RV 7A - Redhawk

Carl (me) and a Young Eagle just after his first flight in during EAA Chapter 242 meeting in Columbia, SC

News Flash: We just sold our beloved RV 7A to a worthy young pilot. We are now at the point of no return, "planeless" and need to get the 14 flying!

Just had to have the new Sensenich Polished Aluminum spinner

Wing and tail paint design follow the flow
Picture
I was tired of the same old tail scheme, so I came up with the stylized hawk - hence the name "Red Hawk"

This is the Grand Rapids PFD, I have upgraded it to the SX synthetic vision. To the right is the Garmin 696
Picture
Panel includes a Grand Rapids 8.4 SX, Garmin 696 with XM weather, Garmin SL 30 Nav/Com, GTX 327 and a TruTrak VSVG II Auto Pilot. It flies coupled ILS approaches like she is on rails. You can also see the hand brake I designed and installed which is a concession to my prosthetic leg, they work well with the advantage of less brake dragging and wear.

This is the Classic Aero interior with Sportsman seats and Aviator side panels

Safety build in with a stout rollover windscreen bar and 4 point harnesses
Picture
It looks like it is all engine in this view, but it performs really well on the IO/ 360 M1B - 180 hp with an easy 60% cruise at 180mph at altitude

The smooth lines of an RV 7A is one of the reason it is fast
