Rudder and Brake Systems - Section 33

Picture
Picture
The rudder pedals with brakes on the left side for Rafael and no brakes on the right, since I will use the hand brakes in the middle.
Picture
I finished building the hand brakes and sent them off to the powder coater. I have change the routing of the brake line to facilitate the parking brake after the hand brake and before the mains. This will be a serial line from the resivoir to left rudder/brake pedals, to the hand brakes, to the parking brakes, to the main wheel brakes.

Close up of the Heim to mater cylinder forward of the fuel selector.
Picture
Close up of the brake fittings which is between the spars to keep it out of the way. From here they are routed aft to the parking brake. Note, we didn't much care for the plastic brake line that Van's provides, so we change over to teflon stainless line from TS Flightlines and we are happy we did. The quality is much better and they are less prone to leaks.
Picture
Working on the brake lines under the panel. Good practice for annuals.

Brake lines for the revision to the master cylinders

Left foot brakes lines from reservoir. Note the Teflon AN fitting lines. A much better solution IMO, but more expensive.

Brake lines from parking brake to the landing gear mount.

Picture
Here we added the parking brake cable and the brake lines from the hand brake. The only lines left are the two down to the wheels from the gear mount fittings.
